Cavemen Sweep 3rd Straight Region Foe

The boys swept there way past Riverton today making it their third straight region sweep. The first match to finish was 1st Doubles as the gave up their first game of the season but beat a veteran team from Riverton made up of two experienced seniors. Next to finish was Riley Reed at 3rd singles, then Harry Burgess in the 2nd slot shortly thereafter. The marathon match of the day on court 2 pitted Ben Davis in the number one slot vs. Jeremy Larsen from Riverton. Ben fell behind 3-0 each set only to claw his way back each time. Ben capped off the sweep by winning an exciting third-set tiebreak 7-5. We appreciate all the support at the match and hope the word gets out that the Cavemen are for real!

JV won 3-2 dropping two close matches in singles with most guys playing out of their regular position as we experimented around with the lineup a bit. Talmage Bennett and Bryce Bringhurst made a splash with their first JV match winning 8-1 in the 2nd JV Doubles position.

The Varsity will travel down to St. George tomorrow to play in the Duel in the Desert over the weekend. Practice for the remaining players should involve lots of practice matches and fun drills.
