Our AF Cavemen played a great state tournament this past week placing 5th in the 6A division. We placed 4 teams/players in the semifinals which showed the depth of our squad, only 1 other team did that this year. Thursday we went 9-1 and were sitting in 2nd place overall, our best showing ever after the first day. On Saturday we played some excellent competition but got shut out in the semifinals as we went 0-4.

Claire Griffin Jenkins, Allie Many of you have asked about off-season tennis, here is some info. The best way to improve in the off season is to do the following:
1. Hit Daily - there's no substitute for court time . . . meaningful court time. 2. Receive great instruction - someone else to give you tips, pointers, advice. 3. Play matches - tournaments, ladders, anything that makes you nervous, play them! 4. Work out - get your body in great shape for the court; footwork, core, flexibility, etc. For the first time in school history American Fork won the 2022 State Tennis Championship at Liberty Park over the past weekend!! Congrats to all the players & parents, this has been a long time coming with coutless hourse of hard work and dedication from this years team and from all those in previous years who worked to build up the program. Check out the stories in the news below. Celebrate by Serving!! Food Drive - Tabitha’s WayTo celebrate our first ever state title, we thought it would be fun to get some more “serving” in before the end of the school year. In order to do this we’ve set up a food drive through Tabitha’s Way. Adam Clarke has set up this service project for us and here’s what we’re doing with it:
“We're going to end this amazing season with some service! We're going to be having a food drive through Tabitha's Way and we're going to have a competition between each grade to see who can bring the most food. There will be a reward for the winners, swag and milkshakes to the victors. All of the containers for the food donations will be kept in Herrud's room, and make sure to put your food in your grade's bin. All of the food that they need should be on this picture. We'll greatly appreciate any/all donations, let's try and make a positive impact in our community together!” We’ll run this food drive for this week only, May 16 - 19, winner will be announced at our team banquet on Thursday evening. Competition starts now!! |
